What you need to know:

We do not recommend using Country Wide Payday. Firstly, their interest rate charge, relative to other lenders and at 50%, is extortionately high. Secondly, the APR listed on their homepage differs massively from that listed in the FAQ section of their website (6760.89%). Thirdly, we know they charge for same day transfers but we cannot identify HOW MUCH they charge. For matters of transparency, this figure should be disclosed in a prominent position on their website. Last but not least, their application form doesn’t utilise SSL encryption – this is a potential security problem.

Criteria:

Country Wide Payday abides by fairly standard criteria when reviewing payday loan applicants. They request that all applicants be over the age of eighteen years old, live permanently in the UK and are in full-time employment. Applicants must also have a valid UK bank account and debit card.

Customer Service and Complaints:

The main problem with Country Wide Payday is their failure to disclose just how much a same day transfer will cost an applicant. Some consumers have also reported problems with customer service and the failure of Country Wide Payday to respond to applicants. Please not that Country Wide Payday is a USA-based lender.

Overall:

There are too many problems with Country Wide Payday for us to be able to mark them as a recommended payday lender. Their website lacks transparency and above all else their interest rate charges are FAR higher than that of the competition. We recommend you look for an alternative – please see our reviews on Wonga, Quick Quid and Txt Loan for more information.
